Coco Chanel, the strong, smart feminist

Can you spot the lie in the title of this blog post?
The other day, for a school project, I was scrolling down the pages of brainy quotes to find well, a quote. And this is what I found:

"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous."

"A woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future."

How incredibly sexist is this?! And coming from a woman! What a great example to all the girls out there...! (Girls, DON'T LISTEN TO HER!!! I FORBID YOU!)

The message being passed is that a woman should be all about appearance and what is in her head doesn't matter. So, if you are extremely ugly, you are bound to fail!

But when it comes to men, it is completely different. If a man has the brains and not the looks, HE can succeed!

What if Coco was born in a poor family, was a bum, had rotten teeth and stunk from weeks without bathing? Would this be her frame of mind?

 

 

 

L'autre jour, pour un devoir d'arts plastiques, je cherchais des citations sur internet. Voilà ce que j'ai trouvé:

"Une femme doit toujours être deux choses: élégante et fabuleuse"

C'est du pure sexisme! En plus ça vient d'une femme! Quel bon exemple ça donne à toutes les filles...!  (A TOUTES LES FILLES: JE VOUS INTERDIT DE L'ECOUTER!!!)

Le message passé est que tout ce qui est important dans une femme c'est l'apparence et ce qu'elle à dans le cerveau, on s'en fiche. Donc si tu est très moche, tu n'auras jamais de succès!

Par contre, pour les hommes, c'est très différent. Si un homme est intélligent et moche, LUI il peux réussir sa vie!

Et si Coco était née dans une famille pauvre, si elle était clocharde, si elle avait des dents toutes pourries, et qu'elle puait après des semaines sans se laver, penserait-elle cela?
